New York Jets Final Preseason

By Eric Ford

Well, I am hopeful…….. Till again, week 1. Zach Wilson, all I got to say is WOW and save some for later. Let us talk about Zach Wilson. An outstanding game he had. He went 9/11, 128 yards, and two touchdowns. Even in the pocket, he looked good. The throws did not seem forced, and I feel he still has much more to offer at quarterback. My only tip for Coach Salah is, let him rest. Do not play him this game against the Eagles. Let him learn from the bench and watch the offense. The running game was pretty good as well. Micheal Carter rushed for ten carries and 52 yards. I have a feeling he will be a 3rd down back. Corey Davis had four receptions for 70 yards and Tyler Kroft with two receptions for 36 yards and two touchdowns. The offense looks like they were moving. The defense did not look like a problem. My only struggle is the pass defense, but I am not too concerned. If this game was only a tiny snippet of what’s to come to the rest of the season, I have a reason to be excited.

Side note before we talk about this coming game. Carl Lawson is on the injured reserve with a torn Achilles. He will be out for the rest of the year. This is sad news, but something that gave me hope was that Coach Salah and General Manager Joe Douglas were actively looking for replacements through free agency or trades. As a fan, I love to see the GM invested in the team with the right players to make it work.
Now the last preseason game against the Eagles. This is the game where the bench players get to show out and prove why they are needed to be on the team. We do not need to put in our starters. They have proved themselves in the last couple of weeks. This is when the bench players get to show out to either stay on the team or at least practice squad. The score does not even matter, playout and have fun.
