The Kansas City Chiefs face off Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. This is a highly anticipated matchup between the top two teams in the AFC West.
The Chiefs are coming off a 27-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Patrick Mahomes was 26 for 35 for 331 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. Isaiah Pachecho had 16 Carries. He also rushed for 82 yards. Kadarius Toney six touches for 90 yards and a touchdown in his Chiefs debut. He will have to have a bigger role as the Chiefs will enter this game without JuJu Smith – Schuster and Mecole Hardman.
The Chargers are coming off a 22-16 loss against the 49ers last week. Justin Herbert was 21 for 35 for 196 yards. He had one touchdown and one interception. Austin Ekeler had 6 carries for 24 yards. He also had seven catches for 39 yards. The Chargers offense might get receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams back from injury as both have practiced this week.
The two teams played in week two, a 27-24 Chiefs victory. Justin Herbert went 33-48 for 334 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also took a brutal shot to the ribs and hasn’t really looked the same since. Patrick Mahomes was 24-35 for 235 yards and two touchdowns. The key play was in the fourth quarter with the Chargers at the Chiefs 1 yard line, in a tied game and Justin Herbert was intercepted by rookie Jaylen Watson who returned it all the way for a touchdown to give the Chiefs the lead for good.
I expect relatively high scoring game. My prediction is Chiefs 30- Chargers 28
