The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most iconic franchises in the NFL and they have had a great history when it comes to the Quarterback position. When the Cowboys became a team in the 1960 season Don Meredith was the first to do it for the Cowboys and led them to two NFL Title games. In the 70’s Navy Lt Rodger Staubach took the helm and was credited with many famous moments during his career but, none more famous than the “Hail Mary” play and lead them to two Super Bowls one and SB MVP. In the 80’s it was Danny White and though he was impressive by leading the Cowboys to three straight NFC Championships but, never reached the Superbowl (we can thank Dwight Clark for that RIP.) The 1990’s the Cowboys had Troy Aikman (my son is named after him) and he had some of the best talent in Cowboys Cowboy history and took them to three Super Bowls in 92,93,95. Aikman also won a SB MVP and has been inducted into Hall of Fame. The Beginning of the 2000’s it was such a mish mosh of untalented quarterbacks and really poor coaching until 2003 when Bill Parcells took over and we got the emergence of Tony Romo. Despite Romo’s good play during his career he never saw a Superbowl but gave the Cowboys some gusto from 2006-2016.
Now at the present we have Dak Prescott, who has one of the best offenses any Quarterback could ask for. Dak since entering the league and until present day has broken almost every Dallas QB record there is. He provided another on Sunday against the Commanders Dak broke Tony Romo’s career of 248 touchdowns on a 24-yard pass to Cee Dee Lamb late in the fourth quarter. This is a huge Milestone in Dak’s career but, since he has accomplished so much it another trophy on a wall that can light up a room when the sun hits it right.
What’s next you may ask well, Dak has to lead the Cowboys to the Superbowl and win it. Yes, there are a ton of obstacles in his way but, with good coaching and smart play decisions this can be done.
